Department Of Commerce

The Department of Commerce [General] was established in the year 1997. The department aims at maintaining academic excellence and equipping students to enhance their skills in the field of commerce theoretically as well as practically so as to face the challenges in the business world. The faculty members are well equipped, dedicated and pave special attention to cater to the overall needs of the students. At present the department  has elevated into PG & research department with the introduction of M.Com & Mphil.

The department has inaugurated two clubs to motivate student’s participation and co curricular activities. The WISCOM club arranges seminars, paper presentation, class activities and competitions. Entrepreneurial Club emphasizes the need for entrepreneurs and arranges various workshops and symposia.

PROGRAM  OUTCOMES (POs) :

PO 1       :               take up career prospects in the following domains  like Banking ; company secretary; charted accountant; economist; stock exchange and broking/ investment analysts  planning; marketing; business consultancy etc

PO 2       :               can become  an entrepreneur

PROGRAM  SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs) :

PSO 1    :               The graduate can develop the understanding and skill to prepare accounts.

PSO 2    :               attain eligibility for higher studies like CA; ICWA etc

PSO 3    :               imparts knowledge necessary to face the challenges of business.

COURSE OUTCOMES (COs):

CO  1      :               Enable the graduate to grab in depth knowledge of all the subjects of commerce streams.

CO 2       :               Enable the students to develop business acumen, analytical skill, financial literacy .

CO  3      :               Provide wide range of managerial skills

CO  4      :               Course have various option that offers promising job opportunities.
